Prophets and Edgar Cayce

The Bible defines a Prophet from God, as someone with Prophecies that come to pass, but a Prophet may not always be in communion with God and may not always speak in the name of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 18:22 – When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

The key here is the phrase “but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously” which implies that a prophet may at times not speak in the name of the Lord.

Samuel 15:10 Then the word of the Lord came to Samuel:
11 “I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions.”

Samuel 16:23 – And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

A good example of this is Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormons who had a vision of the story of the Tribe of Levi in America after being exiled from the Promised Land by Nebuchadnezzar in 600 BC. This story is corroborated by Ancient writings, Edgar Cayce, and possibly Oral Traditions and Archeology. However, it can be argued that he did not always “Walk with God” either before and/or after the vision, like Saul in many ways.

Even a writer or Musician can “Walk with God” knowingly or not; like Jules Verne who wrote many books, but two of which were almost perfect Prophecy into the future of underwater and space travel. From the submarine to the giant squid, to the launch pad in Florida and the return of the capsule into the sea, some of Jules Verne’s writings certainly came to pass.

Edgar Cayce is the most documented of the recent Prophets with over 14,000 recorded readings or sessions, most of which were not actual predictions or Prophecies. Nonetheless, many times Edgar Cayce would elaborate about the Bible, future events and things that were later confirmed to be true making him one of the most interesting recent Prophet.

Probably the most spectacular predictions of Edgar Cayce were the warnings he gave about the 1929 rise and fall of the stock market, and the eventual bottom in Employments in July 1932.

…Radio or American Telephone, … and while these may go much, much lower than at present, these will also during the year be more than twice the price that these are at present – Edgar Cayce reading 900-432 – March 27, 1929

From March to August 1929 many stocks doubled in value as the Dow went from 300 to 400 only to drop to 200 by October which was pretty well as predicted in March.

(Q) What are the correct interpretations of the indications in the Great Pyramid regarding the time when the present depression will end?
(A) The changes as indicated and outlined are for the latter part of the present year [1932]. Then, the change will occur – or that seeking will make the definite change – in the latter portion of the present year [1932]. Not that times financially will be better, but the minds of the people will be fitted to the conditions better. – Edgar Cayce reading 5748-6 – July 1, 1932

The highest Unemployment Rate came in August 1932 barely one month after the prediction above and financial conditions did take a long time to improve.

Edgar Cayce was the only one I know who predicted the melting of the Artic ice over 70 years ago as shown below, and the large breakup in the South Sea that caused the Tsunami of 2004.

There will be open waters appear in the northern portions of Greenland. – Edgar Cayce reading 3976-15 – January 19, 1934

(Q) How soon will the changes in the earth’s activity begin to be apparent?
(A) When there is the first breaking up of some conditions in the South Sea (that’s South Pacific, to be sure), and those as apparent in the sinking or rising of that that’s almost opposite same, or in the Mediterranean, and the Aetna area, then we may know it has begun. – Edgar Cayce reading 311-8 – April 9, 1932

The Earthquake that caused the 2004 Tsunami was at the boundary between the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean and certainly qualifies as one of the largest Earthquake in the region in recent history. However, the second part of the prediction has yet to occur, although Etna has seen increasing activity levels since 1995 with growing eruptions since 2002.

Another example, the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in caves near Qumran between 1946 and 1956 and accredited to the Essenes but Edgar Cayce who died in 1945 discussed extensively their lives which later were proven correct by the Scrolls.

The original place where the School of Prophets was established during Elijah’s time, Samuel – these were called then Essenes; and those that were students of what ye would call astrology, numerology, phrenology, and those phases of that study of the return of individuals – or [re]incarnation.
